You know how important it is to have a good air conditioning system in San Antonio. When it’s time to replace your existing equipment, there are a number of factors to consider including energy efficiency, your cooling needs and, of course, your budget.

Air conditioning equipment is not a small investment, so make sure you have all the information before you buy:

Size – Your current air conditioning system may not actually be the right size for your home, in fact, most are not (according to the US Department of Energy), so it is important to have an accurate measure of your cooling needs as you narrow your choices. Other factors such as windows, insulation, ducts and siding materials are involved in this calculation, so it is important to work with a professional. Consumer Reports warns to “be leery of contractors who use general rules of thumb when sizing equipment.”

Efficiency – Air conditioning technology has come a long way in a short time. High-efficiency air conditioners use much less energy to cool your home and can significantly reduce your monthly cooling bills compared to systems built just a few years ago. More efficient air conditioners tend to be more expensive, but the monthly savings can often make up for this. Ask your contractor to help you estimate monthly costs for different units.

Savings – The government has provided tax credits for purchasing energy efficient air conditioners. You can save as much as $500 if you purchase a qualifying unit. Work with your contractor to make sure the equipment you buy will qualify, and get the appropriate paperwork for tax time. There are also Utility Company rebates and Manufacturer Rebates available as well.

The professionals at Jon Wayne Air Conditioning will work with you to evaluate your current energy usage, home comfort preferences and system efficiency. We can also help you calculate the energy savings you can get from higher efficiency equipment. Remember, even though the initial investment may be a little higher, the monthly savings can really add up. And with the savings you can get from the tax credits and rebates, why not purchase a more efficient unit?

Proper design, equipment selection, installation and maintenance are essential for optimum equipment operation. Once you have decided which air conditioner is best for your home, a N.A.T.E. Certified Jon Wayne Air technician will install and test your equipment to make sure every room is evenly cooled.

We recently talked about the energy rebates and incentives available to Texas homeowners. If you haven’t yet taken advantage of all the opportunities to save on the purchase of energy-efficient HVAC equipment, there’s still time. Not only are there various local, state and Federal rebates out there, but manufacturer incentives are also available that make an equipment upgrade more attractive than ever.

Remember, the Federal government is offering homeowners a 30% tax credit (up to $1,500) on the purchase of energy-efficient air conditioners, heat pumps and furnaces. You have until December 31, 2010 to purchase your new HVAC equipment and claim your tax credit, so if you’re looking at installing a replacement system any time soon, now is the time to act.

The state of Texas is also offering some nice energy incentives, and CPS Energy has several programs going on now that offer rebates for upgrades to your A/C, ducts, insulation, windows and more. When you get in on these rebates, you’re saving money not only on your initial purchase; you’re also getting long-term savings, as your energy-efficient equipment costs less to operate over its lifetime. Considering the fact that the average San Antonio homeowner spends about 65% of his energy costs on heating and cooling, this could add up to big savings each year.

And, in addition to government programs, we are offering our customers another way to get new, energy-efficient HVAC equipment that will save you big money on your initial purchase and every year thereafter. As part of their manufacturer’s incentive program, Bryant will give you an additional $1,000 in savings when you purchase a qualifying Bryant comfort system. This is a state-of-the-art Bryant comfort package that can reduce your energy consumption by at least 30%!

By combining these rebates and manufacturers incentives, our customers can save big on the purchase of new heating and cooling equipment, enjoy savings on their energy bills all year long AND get better home comfort, as well. Ask a Jon Wayne Comfort Advisor about all the ways you can save on the purchase of new HVAC equipment this year. But don’t wait! These incredible opportunities to save won’t last long.

Special Financing Offer: For a limited time, Jon Wayne is offering 5 Years, 0% Interest on the purchase of select energy-efficient models with approved credit. Taking advantage of our interest free financing makes a fantastic opportunity even better! Visit our Financing Options page to learn more.

Right now, there are a lot of ways for San Antonio residents to save money on their utility bills, and the purchase of energy-efficient HVAC systems. Not only are Federal, state and local rebates and incentives available, but Bryant is offering a new efficiency incentive program that could save you thousands of dollars over the life of your heating and cooling equipment. These incentives are designed to encourage homeowners to purchase energy-efficient equipment. If you’re looking at replacing or upgrading, we can help you take full advantage of these credits and rebates.

We normally don’t get too excited when the Federal government decides to get involved with the lives of everyday people. But, this year, the Government has actually done something that helps homeowners afford their utility bills. They’re offering a 30% tax credit of up to $1,500 on the purchase of energy-efficient air conditioners, heat pumps and furnaces. Now, this isn’t a tax deduction, but an actual credit that reduces the amount of taxes you owe. This credit is 3 times larger than the tax credit offered in 2008!

In San Antonio, heating and air conditioning accounts for about 65% of your energy bill each year. Purchasing energy-efficient equipment can reduce your energy costs by up to 60%. So we strongly urge our customers to get in on these tax credits before they expire. You have until the December 31, 2010 to purchase your HVAC equipment, so don’t delay.

Even better, you can get an additional $1,000 in savings through the manufacturer when you purchase a qualifying Bryant comfort system! Through a premium incentive program, Bryant is offering homeowners a state-of-the-art comfort package that can reduce your energy consumption by as much as 60%. You’re not only saving a lot of money on the initial purchase, but every year thereafter. Your new system will ultimately paying for itself.

Remember, even a few percentage points in energy savings can put hundreds of dollars back in your pocket each year. And, if that isn’t reason enough, CPS Energy is now offering equipment and duct rebates of up to $2,500.

There has never been a better time to upgrade your home with a new energy efficient air conditioning system. Visit our Tax Credits and Rebates page for more information and to schedule a Free Home Energy Evaluation.
